The eden valley railway trust is working towards restoration of the railway line between warcop and appleby in westmorland we are based at warcop station and our current running line is approximately 22 miles in length terminating at southfields. The eden valley railway evr was a railway in cumbria england it ran between clifton junction near penrith and kirkby stephen via appleby in westmorland passenger traffic ended in 1962 and the line was reduced to the track between the junction at appleby station with the settle carlisle line and kirkby stephen which served a quarry. Eden valley railway november 27 at 650 am a cool day with a cold wind pw way gang out down the line near sandford bridge fish plate greasing and vegetation management plus as an added bonus of a spot of ditch clearing in wild boar cutting and some more fish plate greasing. The eden valley railway evr is a standard gauge heritage railway in cumbria england it runs over a 22 miles 35 km section of the original eden valley railway in a north westerly direction from the lines base at warcop station. The eden valley railway company was formed in 1856 at a meeting in appleby then the county town of westmorland to build the line between kirkby stephen and clifton just south of penrith
